Perennials

We love an English Country Garden perennial plant. The quintessential range of plants for anyone wanting to create a cottage garden look and there are so many different types to choose from.

Some prefer full sun, some shade, some grow big and some stay compact but there is a perennial plant for almost every situation. We just love them!

That’s why we grow over 10,000 plants in over 400 varieties. From the early spring bloomers to the later flowering specimens, you will find our perennial benches full from April to October.

Some of our favourites are Geum ‘Prinsess Juliana’, Aster frikartii ‘Monch’, Delphinium ‘Blue Bird’ and Rudbeckia ‘Goldsturm’ alongside Heuchera, Coreopsis, Hardy Geraniums and many, many more.

We have an entire tunnel and outside growing area dedicated to growing this particular range of plants - but that’s still not enough! Due to space restrictions we don’t have all varieties ready at the beginning of the season and the later flowering ones will start to appear in May / June.

We grow our plants ‘cold’ which basically means they are grown in a tunnel for protection against wet, but with open net sides so they get all of the cold and wind as if they were outside. We also give them a slow release fertiliser on potting and that’s it. They’re not super fed with liquid feed to make them full of colour only for them to stop when you get them home. You can be sure that if it’s flowering with us it will continue to flower with you and will flower at the same time again next year.

Because we grow most of the perennials ourselves we know a lot about them. If you want advice on what plants will suit your situation, or a plan for a new border, or some advice about how to treat something you’ve already got just come and ask us.
