Seasonal Bedding

Whether you want to spruce up your pots and hanging baskets for summer or autumn/winter we grow a large variety of bedding plants every year.

Summer bedding is one of our specialities. We start growing in March and continue to pot up thousands of plants through to May when we put them out for sale. We are quite traditional and don’t like selling them until it’s safe to put them outside. ‘Never cast a clout till May is out’ is a phrase you’ll often hear our staff advising customers.

You’ll find a selection of plants in packs and pots. Plus we plant up a selection of hanging baskets and containers. If you’ve got old hanging baskets that need refilling you can bring them in and we’ll plant them up for you - better than throwing them and buying new every year.

In the autumn you’ll find Pansies, Violas, Primroses and more. We grow true winter flowering Pansies that flower well throughout the winter, unlike others on the market that flower in autumn and spring only. Like our perennials they are grown cold and not treated with lots of feed - so they don’t have a rest period from flowering when you get them home, but just carry on flowering.

If you want something a little different we also grow a fantastic hybrid wallflower which flowers in autumn and then again in spring. More compact in habit than the traditional bare-root varieties, this makes them perfect for containers. Plant them with Violas and some spring flowering bulbs for a pot of colour from October to May.
